    Del Frisco’s Double Eagle Steak House to Host Wine Tasting Fund Raiser Benefiting Victims of Brennan’s of Houston Fire
    Del Frisco’s Double Eagle Steak House, known for its prime steak and Southern hospitality, will host an event to raise funds for medical expenses for James Koonce and his young daughter. James is an employee of Brennan’s.
    The event will take place Sunday, Sept. 28 from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. Brennan’s has operated in Houston for more than forty years and was considered a culinary landmark in Houston, known for its Turtle Soup and Bananas Foster.
    The fund raiser will be held in the wine cellar and will feature wines from Silver Oak, Cakebread, Duckhorn and Pommery Champagne, plus savory light bites, including andouille-stuffed goat cheese mushrooms, barbecue shrimp skewers, sliced tenderloin and mini crab cakes.
    Brennan’s of Houston Executive Chef Randy Evans will attend the event.
    The event will cost $50 per person; all of the proceeds will be donated to the James Koonce family benefit fund at Amegy Bank of Texas.
    Additional cash and check contributions will be accepted.

    As you may know on Saturday, Sept. 13, Brennan’s of Houston was destroyed in a devastating fire caused by Hurricane Ike. James Koonce and his young daughter, Katherine, were critically injured in this fire. A benefit bank account has been set up for them at Amegy Bank of Texas.

    To make a donation:
    1. Tell the teller you want to make a deposit to a “Benefit Account.”

    The Tasting Room Takes Donations for the Houston Area Red Cross and Hosts the ‘Party for the Cause’ for Hurricane Relief
    Hurricane Ike has hit the city of Houston hard, leaving many people without electricity, water, food and even shelter. In an effort to give back and help those in need, The Tasting Room will donate $1 from every pizza, glass of wine and bottle of wine sold at all three of its locations, now through Saturday, to the Houston area chapter of the Red Cross. Drop-boxes have been set up at all three TTR locations for donations of cash, clothing and non-perishable food items.

    The Tasting Room at Uptown Park will host the “Party for the Cause” in support of Hurricane Ike relief on Saturday, Sept. 20, from noon until curfew.

    The TTR crew will be grilling great food, pouring delicious wine and sangria, and some of Houston’s best bands will be playing all afternoon long on the patio. The focus will be on bringing thousands of people together to raise tens of thousands of dollars for relief efforts.

    Donations of cash, clothing and non-perishable food items will be taken, and a raffle for items generously donated by local businesses will help raise additional funds for the relief effort.  This is an effort where  Houstonians help Houstonians.

    Remember:

    • $1 from all wine and pizza sales go to the Red Cross through Saturday, Sept. 20 at all TTR locations
    • ‘Party for the Cause’ takes place Saturday, Sept. 20, from Noon – Curfew at TTR at Uptown Park
    • Drop-Box Donations will be availabe all TTR locations

    In addition to the Party for the Cause, TTR will be donating a portion of all ticket sales for the upcoming Houston Cellar Classic to the Houston area Red Cross.

    The Houston Cellar Classic is a week-long celebration of wine and food held at The Tasting Room and MAX’s Wine Dive October 13-19.

    TTR will donate five dollars for every “Silver” level ticket, $10 for every “Gold” and “Platinum” level VIP ticket, and $25 for every “All Access Pass” sold for the event.
