‘Mocktails’ for Mama and a Fire-Breathing Iron Bartender

James Kramer, vice president of beverage operations for Landry’s Restaurants, shows the diva of dish and radio talk show host Cleverley Stone how to make ‘mocktails’ for
Mother’s Day featuring all-natural juices and garden-fresh herbs while bartender Lynn Stacy shows off his entertaining drink-making techniques.

The Iron Bartender Masters of Mixology competition will take place on Sunday, May 2 at the San Luis Resort in Galveston from 2 p.m. until 10 p.m. The public is invited to watch the competition for free.

Drink Recipes

Pineapple Sage Spritzer

Ingredients

  • 5-6 Fresh sage leaves, washed
  • 1 Fresh lime
  • 5 oz. Fresh golden pineapple chunks
  • 6 oz. Pineapple juice
  • Soda water or club soda
  • Cocktail shaker
  • Muddler

Directions

  1. Squeeze ½ lime juice into tin
  2. Muddle fresh sage leaves
  3. Add fresh pineapple chunks, ice and pineapple juice
  4. Shake and strain into fresh glass with ice
  5. Top with soda
  6. Garnish with favorite garnish

Blackberry Mint Smash

Ingredients

  • 4 Sprigs fresh mint, washed
  • 4 Slices fresh ginger
  • 3-4 Fresh blackberries, washed
  • 6 oz. Lemonade
  • Soda water, club soda or ginger ale

Directions

  1. Build in cocktail shaker
  2. Muddle fruit
  3. Add ice and lemonade to shaker
  4. Shake and strain into fresh glass with ice
  5. Top with soda or ginger ale
  6. Garnish with favorite garnish

Strawberry Basil Lemonade

Ingredients

  • 2-3 Fresh strawberries, washed
  • 2-3 Fresh basil leaves, washed
  • 8 oz. Lemonade

Directions

  1. Muddle strawberry and basil together
  2. Add ice and lemonade
  3. Shake and strain into fresh glass with ice
  4. Garnish with strawberry

Cucumber Rose

Ingredients

  • 2 Cucumber slices
  • 1 Rosemary sprig
  • 1 part Simple syrup
  • 6 oz. Lemonade
  • Soda

Directions

  1. Muddle cucumber and rosemary together
  2. Add ice and lemonade
  3. Shake
  4. Top with splash (1 oz.) of soda
